Hi, welcome to Paddle Boarding Arena.
My name is Patrick G, I am the owner and the operator of this blog.
My full-time job include family, I guess that is forever! And then there is this blog, and others.
How the SUP ARENA started
I established this blog to share helpful information about various sports, and products I, or people I know, have tested.
This is a blog by a water sports enthusiast for other enthusiasts. It is dedicated to providing information about different types of sports, such as:
- Stand up paddle boarding
- surfing
- Wind surfing
- Wakeboarding
- Others
The information that I share here is from my own experiences, well, mostly, and from well researched information from trusted sources.
My first paddle boarding experience was in 2015, in a place called Malindi, in Kenya, East Africa. First, we (my group and I) were given a short, 30-minute lesson, and then we followed our instructor into the water.
Needless to say, I fell into the water more times than I was on the board. But for some reason, I wanted to it more and more.
Even after going back home, I could not get the experience out of my mind. I decided to buy my own paddle board, and use it every opportunity that I get.
The thrill of being in control of a board on bouncy and gripless water was too much, and every weekend, I could not wait to get away and have some fun.
Until I garnered enough mastery in balancing on a paddle board, choosing a good board, paddling fast, paddling in a straight line, and other skills.
When one of my friends saw how good I had become one year later, she advised me to help other beginners with information.
That is how the idea of starting this blog was born. But it would be sometime before I could actuate it, well, because life happened!
Anyway, we are here today, and that is what counts! It is never too late to do the right thing, is it?
The future of Paddle Boarding Arena
I have many things planned for this blog. One of them is to continue providing helpful information about water sports.
Secondly, I intend to help people find the right SUP products, so I will occasionally be trying some gear, and then I will write about it from a first-hand experience.
I also intend to add a few more sections on wakeboarding, windsurfing, kayaking, snorkeling, scuba diving, and canoeing.
I am a one-man army, so forgive me if I take too long. I like to take my time so that I can provide you with high quality, and actionable information.
I may onboard a few writers from time to time, and all of them will be paddleboarding enthusiasts.
If there is something you would like to share with me, or something you would like me to feature here, contact me. My email addresses are admin (at) paddleboardingarena dot com.
Hope I will be seeing you here, engaged, sharing, commenting, and supporting me in various ways, for a long time.
Have a good one, or as I like to tell my paddling buddies – break a paddle!
Thanks!
P.S – When I am not working, or paddling, I am hiking or doing road trips. Weather and time allowing, you will hardly catch me indoors.
